I workarounded the problem by entering the BIOS and disabling the trackpoint.

For me it's the same situation, does not mather if touchpad and or
trackpad enabled or disabled in bios, i just get the kernel panic. I've

Manually tested on a P8 node (gulpin) with 5.4.0-89-generic and
5.4.0-90-generic
Conclusion:
It looks like a real kernel regression.
The following two test cases are failing with 5.4.0-90-generic (passed with
