I was having the problem originally described: very slow 'reading
package lists' in 'apt-get update'
Using 32 bit kernel 3.5.0-39-generic on latest thinkpad X230 with 16 GB
RAM. Samsung 840 pro.
Either of two things made the problem go away:
- reduce RAM to 8 GB
- downgrade to kernel 3.2.0-52

I also have this problem on my HP Pavilion dm1 with 12.04 up to date.
Very annoying as bluetooth drains the battery.
Is Bug #658675 related to this? This is not a duplicate, as it was asked
to report a new bug in case something similar arose.
