Yes, I am facing this issue too. Even with Ubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 20.04
as my kernel version for both is 5.4.0.
Wifi used perfectly fine on Ubuntu 18.04 until it's kernel is upgrade to
5.4.
Now, it doesn't identify any available wifi network.
It would be great if we can resolve this ASAP. It's
[Expired for linux (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60
days.]

I just complied and test the latest mainline kernel 5.9.0-rc1 from
kernel.org and problem is not fixed.
It might be the bios firmware need to be updated but given the old
laptop HP did not offer any update anymore.

I have hit the same issues with my old laptop Compaq 2510p
It works fine with kernel 4.x.x. For all 5.x.x I can suspend the first
time, but then after that I no longer be able to suspend.

MSFT0001:00 04F3:3140 is not an elan device.
with and without patch, no events are ever recorded by pressing or swiping the

Fails to wake up after sleep
Maybe I was too happy too soon. Today, using iwd, when the channel on
the 5 GHz network switched, the connection was lost but there was no
notification and it was impossible to connect to another ssid. The log
files didn't grow endlessly though.

I just found out that my Lenovo dock also affects this situation -- when
I undock my T480, wifi starts working properly. (No, the dock doesn't
have ethernet cable attached.)
Still, I had problems already before starting to use the dock, but wifi
performance was bearable then. With dock it is not.

reproduce here, but I struggled quite a bit with kernel
compile/installation. I am also a bit wary of breaking my entire system
as it is my daily driver.
On my latest attempt, I ended up with a running kernel 5.4.0-42,
I have similar problem with similar dmesg output with Lenovo T480 (Intel
8265 wifi) and Huawei router.
The problems started after upgrading from 18.04 to 20.04.1 about a week
ago.
