Your "good" journal is with nomodeset. Can I see the log from a good
journal without adding a module parameter? Like an older kernel that
worked?

I can confirm this bug is present for me too:
MSI GS 65 Stealth Thin
Ubuntu 23.04
SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad
Am happy to provide any detail. I've tried a bunch of things over the
years.
I have noticed that if, after opening the suspended laptop, I wait about
10-15 seconds before touching the

but still get issue:
journalctl -b | grep thermald

So I found this mainstream bug where users reported very similar problem with
very similar (or even the same) hardware:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217802
As the first workaround, I tried adding "nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0
pcie_aspm=off" to kernel boot parameters.
Why is this closed? @kaihengfeng please re-open. The issue is still very
much present in 22.04 and 22.10 running on Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen 5.
