[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1400463] Re: [Medion Akoya P2214T] Touchpad not properly recognized

2017-10-28 Thread G.C. Hassink
Strangely it did work on the live-usb session from which I installed it
on this german website they proposed a patched kernel but for me it had no
effect:

Title:
[Medion Akoya P2214T] Touchpad not properly recognized

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The ELAN (not Elantech) touchpad in my Medion Akoya P2214T (MD 99430)
laptop/tablet hybrid is not properly recognized. Both the touchscreen
and the touchpad function as a regular mouse, but the touchpad shows
up as an ITE Tech. Inc. ITE Device(8910) pointer in xinput (see
attachment). Multitouch and scrolling however, do not function, nor do
options for this show up in the Mouse & Touchpad options in Ubuntu
  14.10 64-bit.

USB device is recognized but not automounted anymore

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 10.04
I have made a couple of changes to the system after which I discovered the
mounting problem:
I have swiched form madfwifi atheros drive to ndiswrapper
I have installed the nautilus action tool
I have changed startup options from standard to nomodeset
switching back to madwifi, uninstall nautilus did not solve the problem
sudo modprobe usb_storage fixes the problem but why is this service? not
started anymore?
  (newbie)

addition: in the mean time I used a workaround:
  gksudo gedit /etc/modules
  and add the following line
  usb_storage

kernel 3.2 does not have this problem but than I do not have wifi at all.
