Without it certain utility programs cannot function properly when 3rd SATA is engaged. The patch itself adds Intel Emmitsburg PCH RAID PCI IDs to the list of supported controllers. We've installed Ubuntu Kinetic with 5.15 kernel and updated it to 5.19.0-051900 (which was not available in default ubuntu repo, and was taken from here https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.19/amd64/ ).
