[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1324953] Re: btrfs causes kernel crash when defragmenting large file

2014-07-10 Thread Luis Henriques
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves
the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the
results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-
trusty' to 'verification-done-trusty'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1324953] Re: btrfs causes kernel crash when defragmenting large file

2014-06-13 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue.

However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during
any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all.
Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request
further testing. This is such a request.

With the recent release of this Ubuntu release, would like to confirm
if this bug is still present. Please test again with the newer kernel
and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not.

You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the
following commands in a terminal window:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to
Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from
Incomplete to Fix Released.

If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add
a tag named: bot-stop-nagging.

Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1324953] Re: btrfs causes kernel crash when defragmenting large file

2014-06-06 Thread Eugene
I've just tried defragging a file again with the official trusty kernel
and it soon hanged as before. Rebooting into your kernel fixed it, so
looks like you've done a good job!

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1324953] Re: btrfs causes kernel crash when defragmenting large file

2014-06-04 Thread Joseph Salisbury
I built a Trusty test kernel with a cherry-pick of upstream commit:
c41570c

The test kernel can be downloaded from:
kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1324953/

Can you test this kernel and post back if it resolves this bug or not?

Note that you will need to install both the linux-image and linux-image-
extra .deb packages.

Thanks in advance!
