The above failure was exactly what I was originally experiencing in
18.04 with 4.15.0-38-generic; The only way to recover is to power off
and back on.
The AMDGPU failure seems to be another (sporadic) issue - it's the first
time I've seen it fail this way ...
More watching and testing required!

I'm waiting for it to fail again before posting more info. Once it does
I will try the upstream kernel.
But to answer the question, this was happening in 18.04 (kernel version
4.15.0-38-generic) prior to upgrade, and has failed once since upgrade
to 18.10 earlier this afternoon. (But as luck woul

This has all the hallmarks of Bug #1774950 excepting that no amount of
kernel reversion seems to solve the problem.
System sporadically works fine, but mostly fails to suspend properly
according to /var/log/ker
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
