[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1800859] Re: Fail to wake from suspend in Ubuntu 18.10
The above failure was exactly what I was originally experiencing in 18.04 with 4.15.0-38-generic; The only way to recover is to power off and back on. The AMDGPU failure seems to be another (sporadic) issue - it's the first time I've seen it fail this way ... [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1800859] Re: Fail to wake from suspend in Ubuntu 18.10
I'm waiting for it to fail again before posting more info. Once it does I will try the upstream kernel. But to answer the question, this was happening in 18.04 (kernel version 4.15.0-38-generic) prior to upgrade, and has failed once since upgrade to 18.10 earlier this afternoon. (But as luck would have it, it won't fail on demand for me now!) Last time I can remember this particular system resuming from suspend reliably was probably just prior to install of 18.04 from new - previously it was running 18.04 upgraded from 17.10 (and earlier!) I'll keep an eye on it and report back. Annoyingly, for now though, it seems to be resuming OK! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1800859 Title: Fail to wake from suspend in Ubuntu 18.10 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: This has all the hallmarks of Bug #1774950 excepting that no amount of kernel reversion seems to solve the problem. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1800859] Re: Fail to wake from suspend in Ubuntu 18.10
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.19 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance.
