I updated to 13.10 today and installed jsalisbury's packages from
comment #72. Neither his 3.11 kernel, nor the 3.8 kernel from 13.04
work for me. They both show the Ubuntu splash screen for a second or
two and then drop me into the console. Ctrl + Alt + F7 just shows a
blinking cursor.

This patch adds netlink filter rules to ignore change events from omapfb
if they are long enough to be a VSYNC event. It is a rather gross hack,
I don't want to expect the VSYNC= at a specific place in the raw packet
as the order or length of the other properties might change. But I

Hi all,
I never solved this, but eventually got rid of the freezing by buying
and installing a whitelisted intel centrino wireless card and replacing
the broadcom card. Freezing has stopped. It was clearly the broadcom
card that was the problem. This is not a great solution, but its been
worth it
