with X, thing is:
when the system is running in 3840*2160 resolution, the display will blink with
these browsers under certain conditions.

[Dell Inspiron 7548] Brightness
It appears that 3.16.0-28-generic fixes this problem so I will not do a
full bisect. After successfully booting and decrypting my disks with
3.16.0-28-generic, I have just rebooted to 3.16.0-26-generic to confirm
that the issue is still present there. I assume that this issue should
now be closed.

Ok, the PMR with IBM went about as expected.

After trying unsuccessfully to use all the fixes I found online, I
finally managed it to fix this problem myself today:
1. Install Gnome Screensaver
sudo apt-get install gnome-screensaver
2. Replace Light Locker with Gnome Screen Saver
Do it first for all new users
sudo vi
The following commit is in 3.13 upstream as of 3.13.9:

I think this is actually causing a moderately serious regression with
snapshots.
If you look at the contents of an apparmor define for an example VM the
deny that silences the error here also prevents snapshot commits from
working and because the error is hidden makes this extra difficult to

These deb's are for armhf, but the machines are amd64. I cannot test all
hardware, as I only have one of the machines, but they are nearly
identical except for hardware id's. Will this be acceptable?
