Same problem here (yesterday, 2016-01-20) on a Lenovo Ideapad 300
(80Q7008EAU - 15.6" i5 8Gb 1TB) on fresh install of amd64 Wily/15.10.
Wifi worked ok under Windows 10 home that came with it.
rtl8821ae driver loaded. Connected to AP fine. Got IP address, GW, DNS
etc correctly, but no traffic.

I started getting the error today with the latest patch. I've sent in a
bug (via "ubuntu-bug linux") but wanted to add that I was able to get
rid of it* by running "sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm" in recovery mode.
I was already using lightdm so I don't know why that fixed the problem.

Indeed it has been merged, albeit with a slightly different commit
subject (which is why I did not find it). I'm marking this fix released
for Xenial since the v4.4 based kernel will be uploaded real soon now.

Hi Chris,
The linux-lts-utopic test kernel did not have that commit applied since
it is being addressed in bug 1519897.
It sounds like these two bugs should be tied togeter. What do you
think? I can rebuild the test kernel with all the commits for this bug
and with commit 8599846d7.

Jarno, I did notice that those commands were in the original script after I
posted that.
I got the 4.3.0-6-generic installed in Xubuntu 16.04 just a while ago and your
script worked flawlessly.
I had 3 kernels: 4.3.0-2-generic, 4.3.0-5-generic and 4.3.0-6-generic after
installation and the
