Ran into this problem on my Dell 7010 i5 desktop machine, after doing a
fresh 16.10 install -- first time it's happened with any OS that I've
run on it.
In my case, I'm getting DRDY ERRs on shutdown/restart. Hangs for
several minutes with my SSD activity light lit up solid. Eventually the

two failing BT reconnects. This is the succesful log (the others will
follow). A quick scan over the lines reveals one outstanding difference
between success and failure:

The systems now boot with kernel v4.7 final, v4.8-rc1 and the default
kernel installed.
But ssh does not get started as before. Upgrading will make you loose

I just stumbled across an issue when exercising snapd in 14.04 under

First time happened after latest linux firmware update.

Thanks for the update, Florian. Can you also test the kernel posted in
comment #29, Martin? If you also see good boot speed, I'll mark that
kernel as good and build the next one.

I have the same issue under 16.04 LTS running under Parallels 11. Under
14.04 it works well.
Here is my 16.04 LTS dmesg

The system is capable of booting to the login screen.
Hence the issue seems to be fixed in: Xenial 4.4.0-45.66 kernel

Like Florian, the result isn't unambiguous. It for sure boots much
faster than 4.7/4.8 (~ 3s kernel + 5s userspace), but still much slower
than 4.4. But this could be attributed to the #1 issue
