When did this problem first start? If pressing the caps-lock key does not result in the caps-lock light coming on, this sounds like it might be a kernel issue. Just after starting a reboot, try pressing the escape key to view shutdown messages. ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance:

I am attaching a screenshot showing the console right after executing reboot in a tty. It just sits there at Restarting system, and does nothing.Keyboard lights go off, but computer and screen remain turned on. This has happened in this Dell system since I installed lubuntu 13.04. Reboot
