[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1319224] Re: xubuntu 14.04 does not wake from suspen

2014-06-06 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
ill, as per http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3907#bios an
update to your BIOS is available (F7). If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate does it change anything? If it
doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of
the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Thank you for your understanding.

2014-06-01 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
ill, 3.14.x is not a supported kernel for Xubuntu 14.04. For more on
this, please see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds#Kernel.2BAC8-FAQ.2BAC8-DebuggingMainlineBuildsSupport.Does_the_kernel_team_support_the_mainline_kernel_builds.3F

2014-06-01 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
ill, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help
make Ubuntu better. However, the mainline kernel is not using a software
package provided by the official Ubuntu repositories. Because of this
the Ubuntu project can not support or fix your particular bug.

If you are interested in learning more about software repositories and
Ubuntu, check https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories

ill, there would be nothing wrong if you ran the apport-collect in the
current version that you are running. However, you would actually have
to do it in order for the necessary debug attachments to be collected.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1319224] Re: xubuntu 14.04 does not wake from suspen

2014-05-14 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.15 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
Confirmed.

Thanks in advance.

2014-05-14 Thread ill
Running the apport command prompted me to install some python thing, and
after that, running it again, some window came up saying that it was
collecting information, then it froze for 30 minutes until I had to kill
the command, so that doesn't work.
