 Hello Jaroslaw,
I was so happy to hear your good news. I opened my Kexi
table, went into design view, and increased the maximum
number of allowed characters for each of my fields of type
"text", from 200 to 1000. Went again clicked on the tab to
switch back to data view, I got the below message. On the
basis of the below, I had to discard the changes I had
made, by clicking on "Discard design". You wrote below
that this problem was fixed a long time ago. Are you sure
about that? Or if there is another way to do this aside
from what I did, please let me know.

  Swarup,
  I
double checked and I see I had no data in my test table,
that's why I observe different message. I also confused the
property with the "Default value" property.
  It
would be best if you add a bug report to bugs.kde.org then, thanks.
  In
the report I will be can recommend a warkaround for you for
changing the property without removing data.

would delete all the data in the table. Is that

  Hello
Swarup
  Thanks
for the question. For quite long time already
(3.0?) KEXI does not require removal or
recreation of the table if modified property is
of such non-fundamental kind. So no worries
here.

I would very much like to
increase the number of characters allowed in
each cell, or remove the limit altogether. But
cannot afford to lose my data.

  Also
no worries here. If removal or recreation of the
table is required KEXI _always_ tells you that
and asks for confirmation prior to the change.
You then have the opportunity to abandon changes
made to the project recently.

  PS:
Sorry, I've been away from keyboard for several
days.
