[kicad-users] 3D visualization with POVRay
Hi, since the 3D models were created with Wings3D and Wings is able to export models as POV files, I wondered if it is possible to render boards with POV (like Eagle3D http://www.matwei.de/doku.php?id=en:eagle3d:eagle3d ) in a fairly easy manner. Has possibly somebody tried to write a BRD->POV converter? Regards, Hannes
[kicad-users] Negative text in area fill
Hi, is it possible to create "negative" text or simple logos in copper filled areas ("negative" like cut out area)? Regards, Hannes
Re: [kicad-users] new user, can't find basic components
As well as what Robert said, a couple of tips. Each on the main programs has a pretty good help file, and there is also a tutorial in the documents directory. It's also in the flil list here. Trak the time to work through the tutorial a few times, especially when you get to the point of drawing your own components and footprints. it's not hard, but like many things it takes a bit of practise. Open up CVpcb, and click on the 3rd icon from the right "display footprints list documentation" Print this out, as it's very handy to have while you are selecting which type of footprint to attach to which component. Re: [kicad-users] new user, can't find basic components
Kicad comes with a library called "device" that contains basic components such resistors ("R") and capacitors ("C"). Regards, Robert. killdellguy wrote: > Hi, I'm a new user and I'm trying to draw a schematic. [kicad-users] new user, can't find basic components
Hi, I'm a new user and I'm trying to draw a schematic. I can find the more complicated components for my circuit like micro controllers and voltage regulators but i can't find basic things in the libraries like resistors and capacitors. Are there other libraries I need to install other than the ones that come with Kicad?
