[Koha] OPAC self registration - userid non-Latin characters problem

Hi, when a user registrates from OPAC, KOHA generates login automatically (firstname.surname). If login has non-Latin characters, it changes them to character "x". Where can I search for the reason? KOHA 16.05.03 PERL 5.020002 Linux koha 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt25-2+deb8u3
