Vientiane Times LAO-VIETNAMESE WOMEN CO-OPERATE VIENTIANE, MAY 14 (KPL). A Womenšs Union delegation from Vietnam's Ha Tinh province led by its Deputy President Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet on May 8 visited Borikhamsay province. Provincial Lao Womenšs Union (LWU) President Sopha Chanthavong and her colleagues welcomed the Vietnamese delegation at the Lao-Vietnamese Border Check Point No 505 and took them to visit the mulberry culture and sericulture projects run by women in Nong-or village in Khamkeuth district. The delegation also called at the perfume extraction factory in Park-Kading district. The visit was aimed at exchanging lessons with the provincial LWU. The Vietnamese delegation was warmly welcomed by district LWU and the owner of the factory and they exchanged gifts./. **** VIETNAMESE POLICE DELEGATION RETURNS HOME VIENTIANE, MAY 14 (KPL) A high ranking delegation from the Vietnamese Police Ministry led by its Minister Le Minh Huong left for home on May 11 after a four day working visit to Laos. Interior Minister Asang Laoly and Vietnamese Ambassador Bui Van Thanh attended an official farewell ceremony held at the Vientiane Lao Hotel Plaza. During their stay in Vientiane, the Vietnamese signed an agreement on the next five year co-operation plan, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further the special friendship and co-operation between the two parties, nations and people. The Vietnamese delegation paid courtesy visits to President Khamtay Siphandone and Prime Minister Boungnang Vorachit. They also visited Kaysone Phomvihane Museum and other development sites in Vientiane municipality./. **** LAO JUSTICE DELEGATION RETURNS FROM VIETNAM VIENTIANE, MAY 14 (KPL). A Lao Justice Delegation from Attopeu province led by Mr Khampong Kounlavong, Head of the Justice Department and President of the Peoplešs Court on May 1, completed a seven day working visit to Kon Tum Province in Vietnam. The visit was in response requests from the Vietnamese Party Central Committee, and authorities from Vietnam's Kon Tum province. The Lao Justice Delegation was warmly welcomed by Mrs E-An, Governor of Kon Tum Province and Mr Nguyen Ding Ha, President of the Peoplešs Court. The Lao Justice Delegation called on the Governor of Kon Tum, and then paid a working visit to the provincial Justice Service and the Peoplešs Attorney of Kon Tum. The two provinces exchanged lessons and informed on the emerging situation on justice affairs. The sides also discussed their co-operation with the aim of bolstering the bilateral solidarity existing between the two countries. Vietnam pledges to further train Lao officials on law affairs and a visiting Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to travel to Attopeu to share lessons with the province./. **** TRAINING COURSE IN WAKE OF 7TH CONGRESS RESOLUTIONS VIENTIANE, MAY 14 (KPL). A training course on the resolutions of the recent LPRP Seventh Congress was held on 7 May in Vientiane. The course was organised by the Central Propaganda and Ideology training Board in Vientiane municipality. The course was presided over by Mr Osachan Thammatheva, Poliburo Member of the Party Central Committee and Head of Lao Central Propaganda and Ideology Training Board. Attending the course were 100 representatives of the provincial Propaganda and Training Boards. The course closed on May 11. At the closing ceremony, Mr Osachan Thammatheva briefed the attendees that the officials who attended the training course gained an understanding of political documents drawn up at the recent Seventh Congress. He also congratulated the participants for paying attention and exchanging their lessons.
