In a statement, a spokesperson for the Dublin IRSP said: "The Costello/Gallagher Cumann Dublin in conjunction with other anti- racists held a rally outside the GPO calling for an end to the growing number of racist attacks. Over 100 people attended the rally protesting against the murder of a young Chinese student in the early hours of Monday night when three Chinese students were brutally set upon by a gang of thugs as they were returning home from a party. "To the cries of hate filled, bigoted insults, they were viciously beaten with an iron bar. One of those who was badly beaten went into a coma and sadly died on Friday night. "In North Belfast, we have seen how the bigoted UDA have targeted homes, schoolteachers, school kids and postmen simply because of their religious background, which culminated in tens of thousands of people taking to the streets to show their disgust. "We now need the same spirit and determination to call an end to racism and to stand up for a multicultural Ireland and tell these racist thugs that all peoples, irrespective of race, colour or creed, are welcome on our streets.
