(The following is a translation of a message by prisoners in Lubeck Prison,
Germany, who have carried out a hunger strike in solidarity with the
revolutionary prisoners in Turkey. Solidarity actions outside Turkey will be
vital in this struggle, and this is one of the first actions we know of
involving people not from Turkey. DHKC London Information Bureau.)

"On Friday October 20, the Turkish political prisoners of the DHKP-C and the
TKP(ML) started an indefinite hunger strike. They demand that those in
authority should abolish the special courts which were only set up to try
political cases.
"Furthermore, they want the lifting of the so-called 'security laws' in this
context, and finally they want the abolition of the 'F' Type isolation
prisons and an end to the planning of those that have not yet been built.
"These institutions of state terror and torture directed against the
unwavering opposition to the state in Turkey came about in the light of
experience gained fighting revolutionary armed movements in the Federal
Republic of Germany.
"In particular, these special facilities for torture and murder were created
for use against the fighting comrades of the RAF (Red Army Faction) and the
building of the prison at Stammheim is synonymous with this.
"Recently we have experienced the 23rd anniversary of the state murder of
our comrades Gudrun Ensslin, Andreas Baader and Jan Raspe, and the
unsuccessful murder attempt against Irmgard Moller. If the prisoner comrades
of the DHKP-C and the TKP(ML) are now beginning their struggle, this is
indissolubly linked to the struggle of the RAF prisoners murdered by the
German state, and it points to a globalised strategy of destruction by means
of detention to be practised in future: we see this being done more and more
openly.
"Therefore, the fight of the Turkish political prisoners is also our fight.
"As a result of this context, firm solidarity with the fighting political
prisoners of Turkey is more necessary than ever. For the internationalised
will to destroy shown by the imperialist governments, especially those of
the USA, Germany, Turkey and the Israeli state, must be opposed by the
internationalism of the revolutionaries.
"From Monday, October 23, 2000, we are going on hunger strike, which will be
limited to five days in the first instance.
"We stand on the side of the fighting political prisoners of Turkey and
demand:
" - Abolition of the existing special courts
" - Withdrawal of the 'security laws'
" - The closing of the existing isolation prisons patterned on Stammheim and
a halt to all further planning for these blueprints of destruction.
"Further, we call on all of you to strongly oppose acts of destruction by
the state in Turkey, both those attempted and those actually carried out,
which are being done according to the prescription of the Federal Republic
of Germany.
Let us act
