The issue is high ADSB out costs, receiving is cheap. I meant that a non-elect plane at least has the option, or can wait until prices go lower. I also think with the coming public safety, utility, delivery drone swarm, it will be important to avoid traffic with this technology. > To: krnet

I absolutely agree with using a dual band receiver. It drives me crazy that some of the vendors, including Dynon, only use a single band receiver, then depend on the ADS-B tower to provide them with the ModeS-1090ES traffic. That model doesn't work very well in the mountain west. Those at

Mark, Both are good. To me, it comes down to versatility. I use an iFly 720 and also run the iFly software on my 7" Android. Both teh iFlly and Android talk to my Skyguard ADS-B gear at the same time and are capable of talking to a lot of different ADS-B equipment. With Foreflight, you are

Mike; While you are probably right about the future, this receiver doesn't satisfy the ADS-B out requirement. You'll still need to buy the transponder-based ADS-B out unit. Peter I think it was Chris Prata knashing his teeth over the ADS-B"2020mandate" in regards to putting an electrical
