Good news and sad news!
After installing a primer on my KR2's Corvair engine to cure hard starting
problems, I test ran the motor this morning (before bad weather sets in here
in the Northern part of Illinois).
Even though the Corvair's weight has caused some static nose heaviness, I

I had trouble getting the engine to cough and checked spark, fuel etc. I
found that the point gaps were slightly different...adjusted this but still
no luck. Then I tried a few squirts of STARTING FLUID on the air cleaner

I don't know what others have done...I used .016 SS over 1/16 Fibrefrax
attached to 1/4' firewall with T-88.

I assume they'll;
* Add prop/ground clearance.
* Soften turf landings.
* Generally, add shock absorption qualities.
* Look like tundra tires ;-)
Does anyone know if there are low profile tire

Just thinking of flying over. Could someone please post the lat/longs of the
Mount Vernon Fly In. I'm curious to find out how far it is from Coffs Harbour
and whether I

Apply Peel Ply to the epoxied glass cloth and roll out to ensure there are no
voids. When dry (after step 5) remove Peel Ply and minimal sanding will be
required.

I just finished dry fitting the main and outer and front wing spars into
the boat! Minimal adjustment of the fuselage side openings required.
Distances from wingtips to floor were equal with no adjustment required
and the tip-to-tail post measurements were within 1/8"
Carla and I will be flying in on Thursday afternoon (same as last year).
If anyone is driving to the airport on Friday am and has space available
in their car we'd really appreciate a liftwe'll buy the beer!.

My guess is that the cost of the Rotax may be a big reason they are not
popular in Krsjust my opinion. I'm currently looking at the various
engine options for my KR project and am leaning towards the VW
conversions or a Corvair conversion. I'm going to pick lots of brains at
the Gathering
Does anyone have any information/experience with VW conversions from
Mosler Engines?
I have, through a mutual friend, located an 1820 cc, 72 Hp conversion,
never used available due to the death of the builder.

My problem is this;
I have cut 2 inner wing ribs from 3/32 plywood using the original plans

I am dry fitting the belly cross members prior to gluing and have hit a
road block (with which I am hoping you all can help me);
