My Kr has a Great Plains 1915 cc VW engine with an Ellison throttle body injector. Great Plains recommends that I use car gas to prevent valve problems. Ellison states that the seals in their units are designed for 100LL only, and that any fuel with alcohol in it will ruin the unit and void

Jim, Interesting. I have have '97 Honda Accord inline 4 and I did the same test for highway miles for regular, premium and gashol from the very same pump. My gas mileage did not change with type of fuel. I was consistently getting 26-27 mpg. I guess, I don't have an answer for you on yout VW,

It might not be a KR but as far as auto fuel is concerned I've been using Turbo 108 additive as well as Marvel Mystery Oil in a fairly well aged Explorer. Find I can get 40-60 miles more per tank for the small trouble of pouring them in the tank before filling. Only use 1/4 of the Turbo 108 (8 fl.
