I used Hysol that you can buy at Wicks or Aircraft Spruce to attach some Diehl wing skins. We used that stuff over at Lancair for assembly of wings and fuselages. It's strong and has a long pot life. Joe Scappoose, Ore. > Message: 20 > Date: Mon, 7 Sep 2009 18:08:23 GMT > From: "electr...@netzer

Vinylester is the resin that was used to make Diehl wing skins. That would be the choice to make. Vinylester exotherms more quickly than most epoxies so be prepared to work quickly and it would be best to have as many helpers as you can round up. Be sure and follow the Diehl plans carefully, be

When using the Diehl skins, you should use VE because that is what they are made with. I don't think that T-88 should be used because you need to use a resin and flox mixture for attaching the skins to the spar. You don't want to try to do that with T-88. Wear a respirator, gloves and safety gla

Yes I did do that, I didn't mention it in my last post though. I used this material on the sides and belly to save weight. I think using light weight deck cloth and epoxy is also a good method to seal the wood, it just involves sanding and filling. If using Dacron fabric there is no sanding or fill
