Bob, In the US, a DAR inspection is the only FAA inspection required on an Amateur Built Aircraft, and is only performed after the aircraft is completed. All other inspections are typically by an EAA Tech Counselor and are strictly voluntary... i.e. not required. Even the Tech Counselor insp

Bob, Forget it. Without the box spar inspection before closing it's unlikely any CDN MDRA inspector will pass it. Unless you are prepared to re- skin one side of the spars after inspection, I wouldn't buy it. Cheers Chris Gardiner CGKRZ KR2S Sent from my iPad > On Jan 22, 2017, at 9:05 AM, Robe

I guess I should have asked also n my previous email if anyone has had to open up box spars or remove the stub wings or any other disassembly with good results. By that I mean to be able to then re use those parts. I am wondering how much of a project can be saved if I have to take it apart at

Here in the US. It is NOT recommended to buy a project under construction without a builders log.  The thing is you have to prove that 51% of the airplane by amateurs and without a log there's no way to prove.  From what I've heard Canada has a much more stringent process. My opinion, do not buy
