Does anyone have a favorite source for carbon fiber cloth?? I can tolerate
cloth with defects, I.e. broken threads, to keep the cost down.? Years ago
someone posted a source for seconds.

I know, this is in an RV but it is a pretty neat Corvair conversion in
the true Area 51 tradition.

Played around with some KR stuff in the past.
This Saturday is the monthly EAA 21 Club Fly-In Lunch.
We should have the best fly-in weather of the summer so plan on joining
us and
enjoy some of our gourmet burgers, dogs and brats. PLUS this month
we have added Gourmet Chili made from a secret family recipe we
bought from a talking dog named
We didn't make it to the Gathering this year. When I got up this
morning the ceiling was about 14" I am sure that those that got in
earlier in the week had the usual great time. There is always next year.

OK,
Now to the important items. What are the food plans for the Gathering?
Dana and I are arriving noonish Thursday and will be camping through
Sunday Morning. What is the schedule for the restaurant and are there
any cook outs planned? Supper Thursday may be a problem.

Gotta love mail lists. They bring out the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
In many ways they actually magnify these traits. OK, enough of this
dribble and on to something constructive. Looking back over the
Gatherings I have attended, one thing really stands out. It is all
about preparation.

will park on the other side of the tracks :-)

The verdict is in, it weighed 1,064.7 lbs, and the winners are Jamie
Painter and Bill Repucci (N941WR). At the contest organizer's
prerogative, the rules were changed after the close of the contest; two
23K Gold (leaf) clecos will be awarded. Hey, it is my contest so I can

Hi Leigh,
Two things come to mind. First, U.S. Chemical & Plastics "Icing" is a
polyester product. I don't like to mix polyester products with epoxy
products on a project. Other than preferring not to do it one isn't
recommended for use over the other. I can never remember which way it
Here is a quick run down of how I make most of my molds.
1. Start with a good finish on the plug you are going to make the mold from.
2. put a minimum of three coats of good old Johnson's paste way. Apply
each wax coat in a different direction and use old flannel bed sheets to
buff out.
3.
Interesting thought. Not jumping in on either side of this discussion
but those that know me know that I usually run off to find the nearest
expert to get the facts when a discussion like this comes up. In this
case I headed for my library. I don't think much of Martin Hollman but

Hi Guys,
Like Dana Said, I am finishing up my first RV-7A wing and ready to start
on the second one. All the talk about the "black death" proseal on the
RV lists makes me chuckle. If you can't pound it or bend it the RV guys
start panicking. You should hear them talk about the minuscule
All of the Matronics lists just continue to work. Everything is
archived and there is a good fast search engine. There is a KR list
already set up ready for use. Just add up the amount of time and hand
wringing that has gone into the last two times the free lists have
screwed up.

OK guys. Here is a perfect example of how we have to live with the
consequences of our actions. We have, or had, a list participant that
has gone out of his way to help fellow builders with composite
questions. He has put on builder seminars at many of the gatherings and
has always gone out
