Here in Australia, Most of the WAF already use the single BOLT and 4130
spacer instead of the four bolts us in the states. But they are in the
normal position.
The Idea is worth looking into.

My Friend has a Standard KR2, he has over 6,500 hours on tail wheel
aircraft, from Tigermoth to the odd Mustang, he is now eighty years old and
still a full time instructor, But now he teaches for free.
He has damaged is undercarriage twice now, the first time the owner that
started his KR exten
Well my Todd's Canopy is all but finished. I'm now working out how to fit
the from hinges. Same hinge as Mark L.
Question. Mark and others,
My canopy now fits so well that the canopy sit on the forward deck, and I
have many layers of cloth and Carbon fibre around the nose to deck area. My
hinges
I forgot to ask, Can I drill and bolt the hinge through the frame and
canopy, to save on extra build up of Carbon fibre to the hinge area??
Would the holes need to be larger than the bolts through the Perspex even
when it is coated with C/Fibres and glass on both sides?

I tried hot glue last night. AAARGH! I'm using Blue Styrofoam - it melts
it!

Do not let the Gun get to hot, on white foam I found it OK if you put the
glue on as it starts to melt, and NOT it let the gun sit for along time
turned on.

I don't know how Sensenich numbers compare to Ed Sterba's props but
if they're close it's going to take a hopped up 0-200 to turn that
much prop. An Ed Sterba 60X64 is all my tired 0-200 can handle. I'm
GUESSING you'll need 110 to 120 hp to turn a 60X74.

If you used a hole saw, why not just flox the small circle you had left
over from the hole saw back on place, then all you will see is a small
circle of flow.
I did that with 5inch hole on the bottom of my fuel tank to fix a leak.

I have the TODD'S canopy. on my KR2. It is VERY flexible, and op[tics are
fantastic.
My KR2ss I'm building, I found a tinted Zenith 701 canopy, very large but
cuts down to a perfect fit, it is round at the back, but this time I will be
flattening the top as it is very flexible as well.

My KR2 has two burn and melted strips on the dash carpet. I could not
believe it if I had not seen it for myself.
Only when the canopy is open and the tail pointing at the sun. I have been

Did you or would you put some right side thrust on your 0200 engine mount?
The reason I ask, is the 0200 mount from the Victa Airtourer I have has
right thrust built into the engine mount.

saw this vw 2000cc air cooled engine on ebay. it says its a long
block van engine.
has anyone used it on a kr? need to research it a bit more.

I spoke to a friend that was in the Canopy business. He has made and fitted
canopies from light planes to Spitfires.
He said he as done loads of testing over the years, and Polyester ( low or
no wax content) resin is the strongest bond. The canopy will break before
the joint lets go.
