Personally, I would prefer to use only kmail, even if Kontact is
installed. Kontact insists on starting this reminder daemon (even when
configured not to, quite annoying), and I don't use anything in Kontact
besides the mail component. Basically, it's very annoying to have to run

this problem is not just affecting bluetooth syncs as i have the same
problem syncing my treo 600 over usb
with 2.6.15-20 i could get one sync per boot, with 2.6.15-23 i can't
sync and managed to lock up system, tho num lock key still worked

the problem definitely looks like it is to do with bluetooth even when
it isn't being used to do the syncing, i'd forgoten i had a bluetooth
dongle in this machine, unplugging it and removing rfcomm, usbserial and
visor then trying to sync worked

Since version 1.4, amarok display a dialog box when inserting a
removable media for easy importing files in the collection.
But, on KDE desktop, there is already such a dialog box for asking what

Infact it shows a line saying:

thus requiring all peers to authenticate. Usually provider ask you to

I can confirm the statement above. Turn sidebar off and save Kubuntu
File Manager profile. Close Konqueror, and then start Konqueror up
again. No problem. Turn sidebar back on, and you will immediately get

Same thing happens for me on an IBM T42. Except it often does not resume
properly and just hangs with what ever was in the frame buffer displayed
on screen.
Suspending while shutting down is likely to yeild wierd behavior
depending on what gets shutdown before suspend attempts to happen.

I had the same problem today. After replacing 'breezy' to 'dapper' in the
sources.list and running apt-get dist-upgrade, my KDE vanished along with the
entire kubuntu-desktop (ooffice, etc). So I had to reinstall the
kubuntu-desktop and all was almost good.
The hplip can't be installed
Sometimes it shows it for the first part of shutdown (until terminating
remaining processes) and sometimes it doesn't. It always shows it
starting at unmounting remote filesystems.
When it does show all of it, it refreshes (starts the list over) at that

I am being serious. I'd be happy to hear the logic behind the
