The only solution that worked for me is: apt-get remove kmilo.
It think the advantage of a useable notebook not remebering the last session
over an unuseable notebook that does remember the last session is quite clear :)

Random messages pop up saying Display changed: LCD off or Display changed:
LCD on .
Furthermore, /var/log/syslog is full of following messages:
