Hi Stefan,
thanks for your answer.

Hi,
what is the best way to create a snapshot of a running vm ? qemu-img or virsh ?
I#d like to create a snapshot which is copied afterwards by other means, e.g.
by a network based backup software.

i have a SLES 11 SP2 64bit host with three guests:
- Windows XP 32
- Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit
- SLES 11 SP2 64bit
The SLES guest shuts down with the host shutdown. The others not. When i
shutdown these two guests with the virt-manager, they shutdown fine.

Hi,
first, i'm new to kvm. I'm running KVM on a sles 11 sp2, kernel
3.0.13-0.27-default. My guest is an Ubuntu 12.0.4 LTS 64bit.
The guest has attached a CDROM, using an iso-file from a CIFS-Share. I detached
it with the virtual machine manager (0.9.0).
I don't see the cd-rom anymore in the
Hi,
i'm not very experienced in KVM. I installed two VM's in a raw image. I'm
impressed of the speed of the vm's, that's nice :-).
I have a lot of vm's running on VMWare Server 1.09, which is very old. I'd like
to migrate them to KVM.
I'd like to migrate them to raw images, because i'm able to

Hi,
i want to use KVM for running several virtual machines. Some i like to migrate
from VMWare, others i want to create new.
I red that installing VM's into plain partitions (without a filesystem) is
faster than installing them into a partition with FS.
Is that true ? How big is the difference
Hi,
I'm new to this list and i hope this is the right list for my question. I like
to create several VM's using KVM on a SLES 11 SP1 host. What is better/faster ?
Install the VM into a file or a logical Volume ? If i chosse to install it into
a LV: does the LV needs a Filesystem, and does it
