Dear Annette,
Pardon the personal reply, but didn't want to start WWIII on arachne! Can't
resist asking: are you reminded of the line from My Fair Lady? You know -
in America, they haven't spoken it for years

Dear lacemakers,
May I please assure you that my comment about English was not meant seriously
or to cause offence - just a bit of silly nonesense.

Looks like it's just you and me not at Ithaca, Ruth!
Still don't know the results of the rest of the Triennial awards at the recent AGM in
Adelaide, but
Liz did send me a scan of her prizewinning entry in the Mixed Lace category and I have
put it on my
website. It is stunning!

Now that I'm home again with my piece of scrap paper in front of me, I'm
reminded that as well as Liz Lighetti, another Arachne member won a prize in
the Australian Lace Guild Trienniel Awards.
Jenny Rees won the Bobbin Lace category - congratulations, Jenny!

I find it interesting that 2 people in Britain have received their
copies of the IOLI Bulletin and I, who live so much closer to the
States, have yet to receive mine.

Thanks to everyone who reassured me that I am still on Arachne.
I have been to Ithaca in previous years and it is a wonderful weekend. Sadly I
couldn't fit it into my
schedule this year.

I have often wondered about needlelace with bobbin lace worked round it. Liz has
managed it beautifully, whit
wonderful balance of the design and weight of the different sorts of lace. Many
congratulations to Liz.

Hello,
No, I am not in Ithaca either! I live in New Jersey and I have not
received my new Bulletin yet either. The mails must be slower closer to home! Have

I've just realised I forwarded the dam joke to the wrong list -
that'll teach me to have a glass of wine before reading my emails!
Apologies - it should have gone to chat - I can only hope it brought a
few smiles.
Sorry!

Wish I could do needlelace like Liz. Congratulations, it is a beautiful
piece. Makes me want to take a needlelace workshop next year at
convention but I know I will end up with some ugly grey thread and lots
of knots and uneven stitches!!
Sue, I was beginning to think I had been unsubscribed
As some of you may know, the Professor is trying to assemble a complete

Hi,
I had a look at Theo Brejaart's web page and had a look at the Finish pillow.
There is a lacemaker in Washington State who makes something similar. I
have seen her pillows while at the lace convention in Victoria.
Her name is Marj. More than that I don't know. She shared a cluster with me.
Not long ago, I went away for a little over a week. Since my messages
usually run about a hundred a day, I was surprised to find only four or five
hundred backed up when I came back.
Then, while plowing through the pile of messages, I discovered that Tamara

Good for you, Janice. Ourselves continue to receive calls but the volume
has diminished considerably. We now get 2 - 3 every 2 days vs. 13 - 17
per day. And thanks for putting that article on for
