Hello Everybody, for a lecture about fans, years ago, I asked in our museums for the permission to take photos. And was successful in one in HH an in one in Belgium. I got the permission for the lecture and at that time also for printing in a book because I gave the origin photos to the museum.

also try using a scanner either with the lid open or closed (open casues a black background (due to low depth of field) and works wonders with light coloured laces) scanners are also usually much higher definition than cameras and you dont have to wory about lighting conditions, wobbly hands, ect)

Good advice for taking photos of lace at home. For photographs on the spot, at a museum though we have to work with the hand held. Another thing I thought of, if one has just the cell phone camera, take the snapshot but don't choose the send option which has a sub-option of saving, save directly

The biggest problem with photographing lace in the study rooms of museums is the lack of light, especially since you usually can't use a flash, and even if you could, it would wash out the detail. When selecting a camera try to get one that functions well in low light and has very little
