Morning All
Just to let you all know that Agnes fell yesterday and broke her left
wrist (fortunately she is right-handed). She had it set late last
night and is back at the fracture clinic today to have the pot put
on. I'm sure she'll appreciate your best wishes. No lace-making for
her
Sympathies to Agnes and hope she heals well and quickly. I broke a bone in
one foot and sprained the other one 8 weeks ago and am just beginning to
manage without the crutches (though still wearing this weird boot most of
the time) and haven't had chance to make any lace in that time and am
Sorry to hear the news and I empathize with Agnes, BUT there is no excuse
not to make lace.
As someone with brittle bones who recently has made a habit of breaking arms
(mine) there is no reason why Agnes won't be able to make lace. A little
slower perhaps, but it is good therapy for those
I can second Malvary's post -
We have brittle bone disease in the family - osteogenisis imperfecta not
osteoporosis - and it certainly doesn't stop her. I am obviously 'only' a
carrier as are my three children, but we think our maternal grandmother
probably had it as we have some photos of
Oooops, I also mean to send best wishes to Agnes for a speedy recovery

Agnes,
I hope you heal quickly and get back to your lace.
This reminded me that Alex Stillwell also broke her left wrist at the IOLI
convention in the first half hour of teaching last week. She was kept in
hospital overnight but was back teaching the next day. What a trouper.

Just a big thank you for all your good wishes for a speedy recovery of my
broken wrist. The good thing is that it is my left wrist and I am
right-handed. The bad thing is that it hurts. It'll pass.
Thanks again,
Agnes - Elloughton UK

Good morning! I've met a lady in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area looking
to maybe start making lace. Are there any teachers out that way that are
interested? Get in touch with me privately and I will put you in touch
with
this woman.
Thanks!

Strange how these things happen isn't it?? I'm a member of a
completely different group on the internet (miniatures) and forwarded
to them a link from Shirley in Oz which showed miniature lace. One of
the group contacted me to say she'd been looking for a lace teacher in
the same area

And it will become even smaller in 2012 when we will be hosting the
