When I first joined Arachne there were more posts than my email box could cope

I am finding this topic very interesting. I have been maths challenged all my
life. Numbers make no sense to me. Only verbal explanations or the written
word.
I am a mainly self taught lacemaker. I did go to a lace tutor who told me I
would never be a lacemaker if I couldnât follow a working

magic threads and it worked very well. Unfortunately that was a long time ago

be worked into at least six or seven times. As this is more times than I

I have made a number of fans using fan sticks taken from inexpensive fans
bought in tourist shops especially in Spain. Whilst they are only plastic or
cheap wood they do look nice when made up with your own lace and you can
always move onto better quality fan sticks when you become more
