I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question Ann-Marie, but I can see why
you are attracted to the star! Very modern, effective use of half stitch that
looks almost 3D, like an upturned, fancy Bundt cake pan. My initial reaction
is that could it be Czech? I recently saw some work by
The pattern is beautiful! I haven't seen this exact one, but it reminds me
a lot to Brigitte Bellon's patterns. She has a few books on Christmas
motifs. I have two or three and this star is not in them. So...it can be
that this design is another book I do not know or it is a mixture of
designs

Arachne is remarkable! Not only did I get several emails from helpful friends,
but one of them had actually made the lace and had won a prize with it! She
told me that it was published in La Dentelle, hence my notes in French, and
also in Lace Express.
Thanks to all who wrote me and all the

I am looking for a sailboat pattern or maybe a light house pattern. Nothing

I think you *should* design your own. You did it with the gecko, you can do
it with a lighthouse shape or sailboat. Go for it!

If you want it not too involved, a sailboat would be easy. A plait for the
mast, curve-edged triangle(s) in half stitch for the sail(s), cloth stitch for
the hull. You can have one or more
Rather than trying to put dragons around the whole garter, couldn't you make
a very small dragon motif and stitch it on to the centre of the width of the
garter in the same way as some people sew a small ribbon rose with bow.

Patterns for dragons always causes me some amusement. A friend makes free-

Hi All
My other half is a great fan of Racing cars - does anyone have a bobbin
lace patten (not too difficult) they can sell/lend me?
I recall seeing one on the back of an old Lace magazine (when the covers
were always blue) but I'm unable to find it again.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
