I have seen the name Valdani a few times now on Arachne but I don't think I have come
across it in our local shops. Is it only available at quilting shops or do you have
to get it off the web?

Hi everyone
It seems quiet on the list, so here goes with some randomness about lace.
I'm trying a thread, Sulky 12 wt., and it is 'ok' but not great - it is
about the same as pearl 12. The latter I can't find easily in stores near
me, the former I can, plus it comes in interesting solid shades.

My favourite 'new' thread is still Valdani, the hand-dyed
variegated
selections especially (and the size meant for machine
quilting - 40/3 I think it is sized at). The Valdani is
smooth and strong. The downside is, I have to get that by
mail order, too, and have to be sure
