I received an early christmas card last week. In fact the first one of the season.  It was handmade with lots of decorations and inside was a cute tiny knitted stocking from Stormy Lee.  My cards went in the mail last week so I hope Sue in England gets hers by email and not on a slow boat.

How they kept count? - I think this might be where the ‘Striver’ or ‘King pin’ was used. Placing a decorated pin on the footside where they began a repeat, on completing that pattern or number of rows/pins they would put in another ‘striver’ thereby ‘striving’ to complete the pattern and so on.
