At the start of this discussion, a bobbin holder made
of tongue depressor was mentioned, but not detailed.
I use these very cheap holders alot.
Get basic tongue depressors from the First Aid section
of your store, or colored ones from the craft store.

Hi all,
First I want to apologize for not being 100% sure of the maker.
But at Convention last year in Denver I bought a bobbin with
one of these little swivel things on the end. It is exactly the 'rotary
hackle' that Tamara is talking about but in stead of that metal shaft
there is a wooden
Hi Bobbi -
Yes, Richard Worthen is the maker, and that is the little gadget that I've
mentioned. I gave him one of my own swivel hackles and asked him to put a
bobbin handle on it. Since then, he has made hundreds of them! They're
handy to have to help with those really short broken

Hello Dorte
I also have Skype and have only used it so far to talk free to my sister who
lives in Scotland. I believe it works best if you have Broadband connection
to the Internet (as we both have). I would be interested in talking to
other lacemakers if a meeting is arranged. The only
No one has mentioned pipe cleaners as bobbin holders for spangled bobbins. I
have been using these on my pillows lately as I have too many projects going
and not enough stitch holders for them all.
Someone also mentioned in passing using the little hairclips for holding
metallic thread.
my skype name is mc535xv if any is interested you are wellcome to add me to
your adress. I will add you lindy if it is OK

Thanks to all who have written both on and off the lists, there are a lot of
good ideas to try.
My first choice would be to air the book outside, but it's very wet and damp
right now so that's not a good option this time of year.
I will first try putting the book in a sealed plastic bag with

Hello Susie
What is an equivalent thread for Ariane 32/2 Cotton.
Something tells me that I ought to recognise this thread, but I've done
search and find on the whole of Edition 3 and Addendum 3 and there's no
mention of Ariane. Do you have any more info?
Brenda
Hi All,
Downloaded a colour chart for a thread equivalent to Ariane once when this
discussion happened earlier. Unfortunately, I cannon remember what I have
done with it, but think the thread may have been available from Trillium in
Canada.
I am interested as Michel Jourde uses it a lot in
Hi Everyone,
Yes the Ariene thread is available from Trillium Bobbin Lace. It is a
mercerized Egyptian cotton in several sizes. I see a 30/2 in the catalogue
but not 32/2 as was asked about. I don't know an equivalent but you could
email Gail at [EMAIL PROTECTED] to see if she can tell you.

You can talk for free with googletalk, too. I don't use it very often
