I did a knitted lace dress about that time, two colours of wool at the same time and huge needles and a matching one for my tiny daughter:-) I also was the only one in the family to learn to crochet and made cardigan type jackets which were around until recently, so lasted a very long time. I

Hi Robin, I made a block pillow out of ethafoam planks from Hollister Metal Edge, an archival supply house...it's the dense kind that they use for archival storage...2.2 lbs/cubic foot.  The pins go in easily and are held firmly.
