Jean, You could just do a crazy quilt type sweater with your wool. My mum (Liz in Melbourne, Oz) has made 1 or 2, and I think maybe got the idea from her Mum (she'll know that story for sure), and you just knit each block as it tickles your fancy. Wish I had a picture to share, but I don't.
