Bering-uClibc uses the TZ variable as can be read in:
http://www.leaf-project.org/doc/guide/buci-tz.html
Dear Luis,
Here is Hongkong, which is GMT+8 , If I set TZ=UTC+8:
# date
Wed Jul 21 08:07:38 UTC 2004
# hwclock
Wed Jul 21 16:07:41 2004 0.00 seconds
Why
file /etc/localtime is ignored for Bering. I downloaded the correct file for
my time zone from Charles Steinkuehler's web site. But does not work.
I am using bering glibc 1.0 But it should be the same case in uclibc
2.2. I solved that problem, using another /etc/localtime, like Charles

No, it will not work with Bering-uClibc. Timezone 'mapping'
is one of our changes.
All is explained here:
1. When I attempt to load a package using the command lrpkg -i
package, I get the error message `archive packgage not found', even
though the package is on the boot device.
2.Dropbear does not load even though it is listed in LRP in leaf.cfg.
The same applies to sshd.
3.What is the best method

The package has to be in the current directory when running lrpkg -i.
2.Dropbear does not load even
Folks,
I tried a floppy version of bering uclibc (2.1).
I want a few more packages then will fit on the floppy, and the Aptiva
won't boot from CD.
Hdsupp loaded, but I find no config entry in lrcfg for it. (But I can
back it up...?)
Whadda ya do here?
THX,
Rick

$KCMD_LRP refers system packgage or what?
$KCMD_LRP expands to the contents of the kernel command line parameter
LRP=...
You may choose to use the kernel command line settings in leaf.cfg by
referencing the $KCMD_* variables, or ignore them entirely.

Excuse-me the delay ...
Try the following in LEAF.CFG. (Try first in another script)
VAR1=package_A package_B package_C package_D package_E
VAR2=package_F package_G package_H package_I package_J
.
.
.
LRP=$VAR1$VAR2
echo $LRP
Let me know if ok.

Thanks, I didn't know about the two-floppy mode. I may try that instead.
I actually prefer booting from floppy, rather than from HD. I was
thinking of just locating a few lrps on the HD and using something like
PKGPATH=/dev/fd0:msdos,/dev/hda1:msdos
I may want to try that instead, for example,
Welll...
To summarize;
I ended up compiling a 2.4.24 kernel in order to get the disk recognized.
Basically, once I got all the patches applied, the correct options selected,
modified linuxrc to mount the disk on /var/log at boot, and all that, it
worked out fine.
So I put the router in service.
Hmmm... Maybe I should just go with CF/DOM or something else,
solid state,
and set up a server to move the logs to $whenever, accepting
the fact that
chips get worn out aftesr so-and-so-many rewrites...
Yes, this is what I would (have) done. CF is badass, it boots so fast.
I find it

As I say, the hdsupp.lrp loaded fine, but I got no lrcfg menu item for

and log files on the HD?
TIA,

I think you misunderstand the pupose of hdsupp.lrp - it's

Try lrpkg -i /path/package.
