I know you'll be amazed at an email here that's not arguing with someone

My third novel came out yesterday, continuing the series set in Leeds in
the 1730s. It's called The Constant Lovers and is available in hardback
from good online retailers on an Internet near you. The first two books
Just a quick note to say I haven't produced anything of note. Nothing will
be available for Windows 7 MAC OS X later in the Spring, neither will I be
producing a version for Android and iOS. I hope the Linux port won't ever
be available and a cross platform ebook product won't be released when

Unless we were mathematically up NOW, he wouldnt have signed. Most players
might well assume that even as little as, say, being 10 points clear would
be guarantee enough for them to sign, Howson knows as well as the rest of
us that 10 point leads can
I disagree. If Bates had gotten us up last season, I bet Howson would have
stayed. It is Bates' lack of ambition (that's a nice way of putting it) that is
holding us back. (It may turn out that Grayson can't quite cut it at the very
top of the Championship, but I'd like to see him given more
Sheesh, of course he would have stayed then, because he would be playing in the
premier league!
So now it is down to Bates where we finish in the league? I guess we owe him
big time for 2 seasons ago then?
And you advocate spending to match other championship teams, like West Ham and
I'd say we owe him big for 2007 too.

If Bates had the ambition and skill (together with Harvey and Grayson) to get
us into the Premier League, Howson would have stayed. Last year was a golden
opportunity for that, and yet the club failed. So to me it's about a lack of
ambition at the top. I advocate spending the money the club
If we offered howson and gradel £25k a week would they still be here??

Anyway, the point it Howson was sold because he would not sign a new
contract.
Not because we offered him a shit contract
I would put money on that we offered him a shit contract. You don't know what
contract he was offered and neither do I but I know Ken Bates and my bet is
that
You don't know that Matthew! I bet they would, FYI, but truth is we don't know
so daft thing to say.

Yeah but we are talking about howson not generally.
£25k and a 4 year contract wouldn’t have been signed.

Is it sinking in yet? Howson wanted to play premier league NEXT season, he
would therefore not sign a contract with ANY championship club this January
because no championship club has been promoted yet, nor are they anywhere near
guaranteed to be.
I think that's a fair point, but only partially
I don't think he would have signed for any of the teams in the bottom 5,
Norwich are 11 points clear of the relegation zone, the bottom 5 are
somewhat adrift, and there are another 6 teams below Norwich.
It would have been an interesting decision for Howson if it had been, say,
QPR coming in for
23 matches
