The script is written I think. We may make playoffs but will not gain
promotion. It's been a good season, the best for some years, but we're not a
ready for the Premiership - sadly because of what we do on the pitch. The
support, ground and facilities are all of Premiership standing. Gary Monk

MARCHING ON TOGETHER
I was waiting for someone to point that out. I didn't count the Charity Shield
as nobody really cares about it. It's not considered a "trophy" when most
people count trophies won, nor do you get anything (like promotion or a place
in Europe) for winning it.
Cheers!

There was a lot about Leeds that concerned me as a play off club!
Reading are not a good team but they comfortably beat us. Whatever is going
on with Janson needs sorting. We are loosing confidence with Cooper in the
team, he's a liability.

You should get a job at Opta, Sean.

Rob,
Leeds have failed to win it all in far more than the most recent seven "last
four" appearances. Since "Clarke... 1-0!" we have made at least the last four
in the following 15 knock-out/winner-take-all contests, and failed to win any
of them:
FA Cup: 1973, 1977, 1987
League Cup: 1978,
There was nothing about Reading that concerned me as a play off opponent.
Dull bland little club, who will be excited to just make the play-offs as
an achievements in itself. They don't strike me as having the hunger and
drive for it. I think a rabid full house at Elland Road would dispatch them.
If we make the playoffs, I am cautiously optimistic.
I have read comments on various fora about how, historically, once we get
into a "last 4" situation, we never end up winners. However, there are a
number of ways to look at that, not just the "we never do well" approach.
1) The "Rosencrantz &
Like Nick my first match for a long while and not seen the TV recording yet.
Was in with the Reading bunch, courtesy of not being a member and my daughter
having a Reading postcode.
Pretty much agree with most of what people said about the game.

I am so glad you did the maths, cos the whole thing is doing my head in too!
Thanks for putting it into perspective Dave!

So 7 games left and a 6 pt gap over 7th place - mathematically 15 points get us
promoted (subject to us keeping our superior goal difference) - Even better
Fulham have to play both Sheff Wed and Huddersfield so Wednesday and Fulham
cannot both get 21 points
We have 3 winnable home games -
12 matches
