[LU] Injuries
Been out all day so surprised to find no posts on here about our new injury crisis !Not only has Blackman gone back to Chelsea with his season ending injury, Bielsa has now said that both Pontus and BPF will be out on SaturdaySo both our keepers will be missing so it is either try and get an emergency one in on loan or give Huffer or Miazek their (very unexpected debut) - even worse they will have either a make shift centre half or another debutant in front of them ! (Halme most likely to get a game ?) MB has also come out with one of his strange comments in that he said he was going to drop BPF for Blackman if Blackman was not injured - I hope this is good rather than bad man-management on his behalf, when clearly he could have said nothing on the subject (unless he told BPF on his decision before Blackmans injury?) So no keeper, only one centre back, and no right back ( Ayling and Berardi both out) - for two games in 4 days that we really need to win (and with a full team etc , games that we would expect to win) Much may depend on how well the keeper and maybe Halme play in front of their first big crowd (it is a sell out on Saturday) Whatever it is never boring being a Leeds fan ! Re: [LU] injuries
Yeah, agreed it is slightly unlucky, and he makes a good case that a small tight knit group is part of his plan and also that he has planned for this eventuality and hopefully we will see that Plan A is still enough to be Millwall. I think they only worry is that is it only just September, it's a long long season and Tyler has a bit of a history with injuries. On the positive side, he got a start with Wales so is undoubtedly well regarded. Re: [LU] injuries
I wonder if the Hernandez and Roofe injuries a result of over training ? I think this is Tyler Roberts’s big chance. He’s not a winger and has struggled playing out wide this season. A free, central role might just suit him? Unless Bielsa decides to play Roberts in Pablo’s position and one of the young lads up front ? Thought we really missed Hernandez against Boro and I don’t think we look the same team without him. > On 13 Sep 2018, at 16:09, Richard Naef > wrote: > > Roofe, Hernandez, Bamford and Beradi all crocked for Saturday, we still > should beat Millwall, EL Loco's plans are looking a little bit threadbare > already and there is no Plan B! Re: [LU] injuries
While I see the logic in this I also feel that when we lost players last year we just brought in crap to replace, so extra bodies yes but a drop in quality. At least this way we will see if Roberts etc who have been playing with the squad since pre-season are fully integrated in the team. I guess the intent is that with a small squad the drop off in class should not be so great. Just a bead game for this to happen though Millwall have been crap so far.
