The City of Moreland and the AEU will be holding a basket supper on November
19th at the Brunswick Council Chambers the cost is $25 with drinks at bar
prices. The Naked Flame and Trades Hall choir will provide entertainment.

The AEU Vic Branch council of 4th of September passed a motion of support
for the Independence Ballot and collected $400 to support our comrades in
East Timor. The AEU Vic branch will be supporting and keeping our members
informed of all activities that will put pressure on the Aust Indonesian
I was in East Timor recently as apart of an ACTU delegation. The delegation
looked at the registration and ballot process and attempted to see what
support the Trade Union Movement could offer the independence movement. The
delegation meet with a number of political groups and organizations.
After returning from East Timor as a part of an ACTU delegation I have a
number of requests. Can anyone help?

Blackburn HS Picket
It is expected that the school will attempt to bring scabs in this week (
the school has been given an unlimited budget to employ scabs). There are
no students Wed but Tues and Thurs , Fri there will be classes. Come down
to Springfield Rd Blackburn and fight to stop the
Blackburn High School are taking a week of stop work action . Supported
by parents the 39 AEU members have taken this action as protest at the
lack of consultation by the Principal and School Community.
The teachers will have a peaceful picket at the school at 60 Springfield
Rd Blackburn daily
Victory to the workers the TCFUA and the Australian Dyeing Company
finally signed today the Agreement .- with some items will be going to
arbitration. But workers will begin work on Monday . Chubb Security
and Video Cameras OUT and TCFUA members IN.
Day 64
Battle continues as the union fights to stop the company from going into
receivership. Workers will not allow the ADC to play divide and conquer
by excepting the company's offer and selling out 5 of their comrades.
The TCFUA members said that all workers walk through the door or none.
