Naomah, A Q date was introduced by Legacy at their customers' request to accomodate the British bmd *Registration* system which indexes by quarters such that Mar Q is the quarter ending the last day of March . WRT your first question(s) the answer depends on the outcome you require.

I have an individual born in July 1859 and not registered until January 1860, so showed in Mar Q 1860. No big deal but it did throw her age out a bit when I was searching for her. Receiving the Birth Cert cleared matters up. IMHO using the Q date as proof of BMD or proof it was the right
