Can someone give me any ides as to how / where I somehow picked up over 7000
Individuals ( names ) and almost 2500 families since updating to version 7?
My data base previously had 945 families and 2874 individuals ... now it
has 10044 indivds and 3435 families???

Hi Kirsten,
Go to the Legacy Help, and type symbols into the index search bar,
then double-click on Symbols on names. It will tell you A *»* at
the end of the Husband or Wife label means that person has excluded
potential problems selected, amongst other things.
Hope this helps. :-)

According to Legacy help the symbols mean:
What do the Little Symbols Mean?
A + at the end of a parent names means that person has parents. There is
at least one more generation of ancestors on that line.
A + at the end of a child name means that person has children. There is

When using L7, the old Basic Style recieved some changes, which are the same
places the SW is having problems with. I have not gone back to L6, so wonder if
the mistakes created in L7 moves back to L6. My main question is, has it
happened to all, most, some, a few, and is there a pattern. Ie.
Thanks for the update Geoff! And thanks for all the hard work behind
the scenes that we don't see. I know that when these issues are
resolved, Legacy will have *the only* genealogy software product out
there that offers EE-style templates AND the ability to create dynamic

Thanks.

The answer to this question is probably obvious, but I can't figure it out. Why
is it that, in setting up a descendant report, the marriage notes start on a
new page (instead of continuing on the same page)?

I hate to say it but it is almost certainly something you did, whether you
intended to or not. Or someone else has access to your computer and imported
a file. The cause is less important than what to do now. If you haven't
added any names manually, and if you have made minimal other changes,
Janis, did you get an answer to your question? If you did could you tell me
what it said to do? I'm also interested in a report like this. Thanks.

I think the only way to do this is to use tags and export to a new
legacy family file.
Tag direct line with tag 1 (or other #). Start with the starting
person and tag him, go to his father and tag, go to the grandfather
and tag etc. until you reach the oldest generation. Don't tag anyone
else.
Please forgive me lack of etiquette. I sit here appropriately chastised.

Hello Fellow Users,
Just a question from a new user of legacy. I ordered Version7 from my local
supplier here in Australia. Because it was so long in arriving, I downloaded
the trial version which by the way I love, and have been using. Today I pick
up the Deluxe version,[hurray] and wish to know
I'm trying to make a Pedigree Chart from Version 7 for a family member. All of
the pictures are about the size expected except for one. I've deleted it,
closed out Legacy and resized the picture with a photo program several ways and
then added it to Legacy again. It continues to be very tiny
No. The trial and the deluxe version are the same installation. Your
deluxe version should have a number and instructions where to put it.
That unlocks the deluxe features.

Syble,
I haven't looked at using pictures in this report in V7 before. Firstly I can
confirm that I also have a very small picture, in my case in position No. 2
which, as I started with myself is my father. I know that the picture is big
enough and I have checked using both a bmp and jpg
I hate to be so dumb, but how do I report it as a bug?
It does seem odd that it would be a bug, but I worked with this about an hour
sizing, resizing, deleting and adding it again, shutting the program down etc.,
I thought somehow I was missing something. This same picture comes through
just
You could also use modified date if all wrong stuff is dated about the same
time?

Syble,
Go to the Legacy Home tab in Legacy. On the right of the screen, under the
heading Support, there is a link labled Report a Bug (3rd link from the
bottom). That will open up a form for you to fill out.

Within Legacy, click on the home tab. The bottom right side of the
screen has a support box. Select report a bug. (Whew! Finally a
question that I can answer! ;^) )

I agree this would be a useful feature, and to keep everyone happy,

How did this work?
In Legacy, you click Add New [wife, husband, father, mother, son, daughter]
OR you click Add Existing. Existing brings up the name list. Add New brings
up an individual screen. It seems you would have to type in information for
it to look at your database. Seems simple
And do an UPDATE!
Enjoy!

Specifically, which report are you using? I've looked at several reports but
have not yet found one where the marriage notes are on a new page. I don't see
one named Descendant Report, only Descendant Chart (which does not include
marriage notes), Descendant Book and Descendant Narrative.
I have tried using small, med, large, changed about every option available,
with no success. This picture in question in in the female grandparent
location and is it's normal size in the Ancestor Report.
I did report it.
Thanks,
