Ange,
I am having difficulty in picturing this as I cannot really see what you are
trying to do and why.
However, let us take the first bit:

Tag 1 equal to untag
The 3rd condition only operates on the

Certainly appreciate your answer, but I could thick and missing something.

Jim,
I see what you're talking about. I agree with JL. It means that
there is more than one relationship. I have a cousin who is married
to someone who is also her fourth cousin and her fifth cousin. (She's
only married to one man - we just have ancestors who married cousins
more than once!)
Hi Jim,
I was still with version .76 so I updated to .86 My third option still says
view additional relationships and as you said it brings up the
relationship calculator.
I am not sure why it is not picking up on the relationship for both John and
Rose. Is one of the relationship based on
Hi,
I have a family branch whose name was constantly misspelled in the census
records. I am trying to generate a handy report to show everyone with that
last name and which census records I do have so I can focus on the ones that
I am missing without having to pull up 200 individuals.

I set up a test file to check this. Here is what I found. Rose has the +
sign because her relationships are calculated as:
1. 1st cousin 3 times removed
2. wife of 1st cousin 3 times removed (this is a relationship by
marriage not blood)
John only has the relationship
1. 1st cousin 3 times
Thanks, Brian, JL, Ange, Dede, and Jenny,
Do you mean the + sign that indicates there's more than one relationship?
I had to plot it out. I said I was a bit dense at times...
John's father, Joe, is Rose's mother, Louisa's, brother. Hence, Joe's and
Louisa's parents are John's and Rose's

Jim,
Yes it is that simple. The + sign beside a relationship in that area
above a person's name means there is more than one. If you right click
on someone with a + sign you will see the option to view additional
relationships for THAT person. The reason you did not see that choice

Ange,
I am wondering if there is a bug here, and I wonder if you would try something
for me. In OptionsGeneral would you change the Tags to show to 4,5,6 and let
me know what happens when you print.
It will take me a while to reproduce what you are doing, otherwise I would look
for myself.
Angela,
Go to Options Customize General
In the Tagging options click on the tags to show button and change those
to include at least one of the custom tags you want in the report. On
the Report Row 1 screen ensure that that number is also selected. If
tags to show are the default 1, 2, and
Thanks Brian and Ron,
With going to options and changing the tags I want to show to 4-6 they do
show up on the report. I can just print that report and go back to change
the tags to 7-9 and get the others. It is not one neat report but it gets
the job done.
Thanks,
Ange

The alternate name appears in my Index of Names in the Modifed Descendant
report.
It has a prefex of ~ so that you know it is an alternate name.
I am using Legacy 7.0.0.86 - the latest build.
You do have to choose to include alternate names in the Index option in the
Descendant Report window.
Dennis,
A straight forward tagging of a list of people compiled from a Detailed Search,
something which, as you know, should not be a problem at all.

My font size on Notes used to be 20 so I could see it. Now, in having a new
hard drive, it seems to go to 10 or smaller. How do I change it back? I
cannot remember.
