Or for a MAC? I love Legacy, but hate Windows because of the constant hassle
of tweaking and the other issues with this OS. I have not been able to find a
suitable Genealogy program for my MAC that approaches the things I like about
Legacy - developers, please tell me you are working on a MAC

Ah, sorry! I should read more carefully.
I have had a look at the Source Type Master List and also at the
Bob,
I am using VMWare Fusion, with XP Pro installed on it, and running Legacy
very nicely on both my MacBook Air and my iMac. If you haven't tried it with
the latest generation of Macs, you will be surprised at how beautifully it
works. Just like having a little pc inside my Mac. Legacy is the
Sherry, I downloaded the Geo Location Database and when I started
installing it, I get the message that it is an old version and I needed to

the newer version. How do I get to the site to download the newer version
and not get the same old version again?

June,
The Legacy news article here has a tip on finding your end of line
ancestors that will help you identify those beginning points for your

Lloyd,
Did you go to the Database Maintenance button? There's only one set of
Regional Databases on the website - the Geo Location Database has never been
updated.
You don't download the full database - it's over 400 MB. You download the
rdb files and import them into the database file. Full
The other option for both Mac and Linux is xVM VirtualBox. It does the same
job as Vmware Fusion (personally I think it does it better but that is just
my opinion) and best of all it is FREE! The really smart feature is

Helen,
Legacy is built on Access, I think which means they won't be building

Virtual Box just so I could run Legacy. It does just fine. But when I

I am trying to evaluate Legacy for use with an organization in Honolulu,

addresses specific issues?
Alternatively, is there someone willing to answer my questions remotely,

Hello Bonnie
I would advise that perhaps you try the following urls':
http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/Help.asp whilst here notice the Help Center
it has a drop-down menu with some great help for you;

Thanks for the response. Already tried all the help pages. The routine
FAQ's do not address what I'm looking for. I am a regular user of another
software package that I know can do what I want, but Legacy is said to be
more user-friendly. If it can do what we need, we will purchase Legacy.
But
I've recently upgraded from Version 6 Deluxe to version 7 Deluxe and I
find that the shortcut keys shift F9/F9, shift F11/F11, and shift
F12/F12 no longer function in any field except a location. Using those
shortcut keys to copy/paste detail information for sourcing saved many
key strokes.

Sounds like you wish to use Legacy in a way/method similiar to DB3/4/5/ etc..
by adding your own fields in regards membership?,
Would honestly suggest you send your queries directly to Technical Help
Divisiob of Millenia which I would have felt you saw at the top of drop down
menu when
